Companion Care Services

Personal Care

24 Hour & 
Live-in Care

A friend to help with daily living.​

Focusing primarily on basic social life and activities of daily living, Companion Care Services offers a wide range of care plans, including:

  • Assistance with moving, dressing and grooming (brushing hair, filing nails, etc.)
  • Maintaining a safe and comfortable home environment
  • Light housekeeping and laundry
  • Meal planning, preparation, cleanup
  • Medication reminders and accompaniment to appointments and errands
  • Respite care for families
  • Cognition improvement games using advanced technology with online care plan assessments and check-ins

For those who require a more hands-on approach to care.

Focusing primarily on physical needs, Personal Care is provided by a trained caregiver who can do everything offered by our Companion Care Services, plus other care needs that require more personalized senior care interactions like:

  • Bathing, dressing, skin, mouth and hair care
  • Measuring temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure
  • Assist with prescribed range of motion (ROM) exercises
  • Assist with the use of ambulation devices (wheelchair, walker, etc.)
  • Assist with the change of a colostomy bag, reinforcement of dressing, etc.
  • Hospital transitions
  • Cognition improvement games using advanced technology 
with online assessments

Our Round the clock live-in care for those requiring more. level of Senior Care.

When we develop your loved one’s care plan, it includes a comprehensive host of offerings based on our exclusive care plan assessment. It takes into consideration the continuum of care as needs change, including incorporating our propietary technology into care planning to help the team deliver the best solution. Extended offerings such as hospital transitions, physician visits and whatever is required for full coverage are also available.*

24 Hour & Live-in Care

Comprehensive care planning incorporates care that starts with the needs of our client today and changes as needs change anywhere from 4-24 hours per day. If Live-In Care is needed, Live-In caregivers can remain in the home to provide care during the day and provide continuity throughout the week. Live-in Services may be added to the Companion Care and Personal Care packages.

Live-in Care is offered by a caregiver who stays in the client’s residence 24 hours a day.

  • Care will be provided by a caregiver who is qualified to meet the daily level of care needs of the individual client.
  • Caregiver must have uninterrupted sleep time in a separate sleeping room for privacy.

*At times, caregivers may require slightly higher billing rates for specialty care cases or cases that are particularly difficult to cover.

Ruth Southland

Director of Sales
Bringing more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, program development, and client focused service, Ruth’s background includes managing large scale community programs, securing major grant funding, and leading research and public impact initiatives. Before joining One You Love Homecare – Ft Lauderdale, Ruth held leadership roles in both regional and national home care organizations, where she coordinated thousands of weekly care hours, supervised large field teams, and built strong relationships with families, caregivers, and referral partners. She is known for her strategic approach, exceptional problem solving skills, and commitment to delivering compassionate, dignified care. Ruth is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP)® and a recipient of the Frances Black Humanitarian Award in Healthcare. She continues to serve her community through volunteer leadership and brings a mission driven, relationship centered approach to supporting seniors and their families. In her role at One You Love Homecare, Ruth coordinates the initial in home assessments alongside Liesa and works closely with Alyson to ensure each client is thoughtfully matched with the caregiver who best fits their needs.

Alyson Ackbersingh

Administrator & General Manager
As the Administrator and General Manager, and with a strong foundation in empathy, Alyson brings operational leadership, and regulatory expertise. She began her career studying mortuary science, where she developed deep skills in ethics, family support, and managing sensitive situations with professionalism and care. Alyson later advanced into senior care leadership as a licensed Assisted Living Facility Administrator, overseeing resident care, compliance, budgeting, staffing, and day to day operations. She collaborated closely with families, physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to streamline care and improve satisfaction, while ensuring a safe and supportive environment for residents. She is known for her strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and commitment to building trust with clients, caregivers, and families. In her role at One You Love Homecare, Alyson manages home care operations, supports caregiver teams, and ensures every client receives dependable, respectful care in the comfort of their own home. Her blend of technical knowledge and heartfelt dedication makes her a steady advocate for both clients and staff.

Liesa Rusz

Registered Nurse
Liesa is an experienced nursing professional with more than two decades of clinical experience across critical care, emergency medicine, ambulatory surgery, and homecare. Her background in high acuity hospital settings and community based care gives her a deep understanding of how to support individuals and families through every stage of recovery and wellness. She is known for her calm judgment, strong assessment skills, and ability to guide families through complex and often emotional transitions with clarity and compassion. Her career includes extensive hands on patient support, interdisciplinary collaboration, and care plan coordination. Liesa has worked closely with physicians, therapists, and care teams to ensure continuity, communication, and a smooth experience for patients and their loved ones. She is skilled in-patient education, navigating changing needs, and helping families feel informed and supported. Liesa holds an active, unencumbered Florida Registered Nurse license and maintains a strong commitment to professional excellence. She brings a warm, personalized approach to every interaction, building trust quickly and ensuring that clients and families feel respected and understood. In her role at One You Love Homecare – Ft Lauderdale, Liesa’s focus is on maintaining the highest carer quality standards and ensuring that every client receives dependable, individualized support in the comfort of their own home.
